Cintsa East, or lately named Chintsa East, near the N2 highway to Butterworth, Umtata and Durban, is the southern gateway to the Wild Coast and is known for its unspoilt beaches, friendly atmosphere and casual rural lifestyle. Just 40 km from East London in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, which is a significant river harbour port city, with a recognised airport terminal. Chintsa East serves as the right setting for any relaxing holiday or business stopover.

Chintsa East itself consists of many points of interest. Its beautiful 6km long beach with odd fishing rocky outcrops and good surfing, is perfect in each and every way. Dolphin sightings are a regular occurrence during the year with Whale viewing being prevalent from August to February. The village also offers various restaurants with affordable prices. Takeaway meals are also available. The country club, which welcomes all visitors, offers tennis, bowls, volleyball as well as an extensive library. The vibrant residents youth team arranges entertainment and social activities within the summer time season. In addition to the small local stores, there is a sizable Shopping Mall 18km away, which caters for all food/liquor, fuel, medical, banking, dining, etc needs.

Other points of interest that are nearby consist of a local Brewery, Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve (7km) that provides Elephant and Cheetah encounters and Game drives, Areena Adventure Resort (10km), Gonubie Golf Course (30km) and a superb Course at Kei Mouth with magnificent ocean views.

About the Owners - Avy and Rod:

Avy, a retired Nursing Sister, and Rod, a retired Civil Engineer, have been full time Residents in Cintsa for 6 years plus. Prior to that they spent many years travelling with their three sons and friends, from their working abode in  Johannesburg to Glen Eden, just south of Cintsa for their annual Xmas Caravanning holidays. They both enjoy the outdoors and after spending 20 plus years doing long distance running have now, due to aching bones and joints, had to settle for long walks with their Golden Retriever, Max and Labrador, Amber. Apart from enjoying the warm company of friends in the village, other regular activities are Bowls, Golf, Hiking, Bridge, Marjong  and working around their house.
